Lockdown came – what were the implications for our little business?
On the stalking front, we only had one week left of the winter cull, so effectively we only lost one week’s stalking – historically the stalking team then move onto estate maintenance which was available to us so no real change in the short/medium term!
Venison sales was a different challenge – all hotels and restaurants closed – all events cancelled!
To our surprise and relief, mail order and shop sales rocketed and saved the situation and we have cleared almost all our stock!! It sounds like a happy ending – I wish it were as simple as that!
